Stampin with Liz Design: In Paris Card with Video Tutorial!

Welcome to another Stampin with Liz Design blog post! I'm here today with another fun card to share with you! I started playing today with the nice sketch posted at Card Challenges for this weeks challenge at MFT and this card came about! I always love a great sketch, it's a great way to get you started with creating! Don't forget to watch my Video Tutorial at the end of this blog post.

I started by thinking what stamp set I wanted to use. I choose the In Paris stamp set from MFT. The vocal point of the sketch are the three starts. I build around the idea of using the hot air balloons on those places. I then started thinking about my background and which images I wanted to use besides the balloons. I stamped all my images and diecut those before I started colouring. I used my Copic Makers to colour with. At the end of this post I'll list the colours I used.

I created the background with the Cloud stencil, a blending tool and three ink colours. I used the Mini Distress ink pads from Ranger, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans and Wilted Violet. I added some ink spatters in all those colours and added a few white spatters. I adhered the background on to a basic card from Smoky Slate Cardstock from Stampin' Up.

I stamped my text on black cardstock with Versamark ink and used white embossing powder and a heat tool to emboss the text. I adhered a small piece of paper from the Black & White Stripes Paper Pack. I then finished my card by placing the images on dimensionals on to my card. Would you like to see how this card came about? Check the Video Tutorial below, or watch on YouTube in HD!
