Stampin with Liz Design: You're Super Card!

Hi everyone! Welcome today at a new blog post from Stampin with Liz Design! As you probably know, I do love entering card challenges, especially sketch challenges. So when the new sketch challenge at Mft Card Challenges went live yesterday, I sat down to create a fun card!

I love using sketches as a starting point for a card. It takes you places sometimes you normally wouldn't think about when you start creating. For this card I started thinking about the layout first and then decided which stamp set I was going to use for it. Mostly I work the other way around. I then pick a stamp set and start from there.

So for this card I created a background first. I diecutted a piece of white cardstock with the largest die from the Stitched Rectangles Die-namics from Mft. I then blended my background with two colours of ink from Stampin' Up, Blueberry Bushel and Pacific Point with a blending tool. I covered the upper part with a mask that I created by diecutting post it tape with a die from the Stitched Cloud Edges, so it would leave a nice white cloudy space on top. I added some stars from the stamp set You're Super with Versamark ink and white embossing powder. I heat setted this with a heat tool.

I then diecutted white cardstock with the fun new die from the Tag Builder Blueprints 7 and blended this with a blending tool and Spun Sugar Distress ink from Ranger. I used the Radiating Rays stencil to apply rays of Sunshine by again using a blending tool and Picked Raspberry Distress ink. I used this piece as a shaker frame by placing some window sheet behind the circle and placed some sequins behind this, attaching it with dimensionals on to my card.

I then stamped and diecutted the cute Super Girl from the stamp se You're Super and started colouring my image with Copic Markers. You can see which markers I used in the photo below. I stamped the city image twice and fussy cutted this image to place at the bottom of my card, diecutting is first with the same stitched rectangle die to make it fit my background perfectly. To finish this fun card, I stamped the tekst 'Never Fear, Your Birthday is Here' that came from the stamp set Super Dog. I used black cardstock and Versamark ink and white embossing powder for this as well. I just love the embossed touch!

Thank you so much for watching today, hope to see you next time!
