Stampin with Liz Design: Scrapbook & Cards Artisan Post!

Every month the magazine Scrapbook & Cards Today is featuring a post created by an Artisan Design Team member. This month I had the hounour to have my cards showcased on their blog! Make sure you'll check the original post here! You can enter a give away and win some of the products I've used for my cards!

One of my favourite Stampin’ Up! stamp sets is the Magical Mermaid stamp set! I just love the images in this amazing set!

I created three cards with this set, all in my favourite technique, ink blending. For each card, the base is created from Whisper White Thick Cardstock. For the front, I sponged Whisper White Cardstock with the Stamping Sponges in three colours ink, Bermuda Bay, Balmy Blue and Pool Party. Ink blending sounds hard, but it’s actually a very easy and fun technique. Dip your sponge on an ink pad of choice and then sponge in circling movements over your project. To get the best result, apply a few layers until your satisfied with the end result.

The outline of the mermaid image is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then I coloured the image with the Stampin’ Blends Markers. These markers come in two colours, a light and darker one, so applying shading in your colouring was never easier. I used the Lovely Lipstick, Daffodil Delight and Petal Pink Markers for this mermaid. I added some Glitter Enamel Dots on my background. You can never have too much glitter, right?

I love stamping the stripes on the side of my cards, giving it a little extra, a bit of a personal signature to my cards maybe. The striped image comes from the stamp set Tropical Chic. The text for these cards is stamped on Basic Black Cardstock with Versamark Ink. Sprinkle your stamped image with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tip the excess off your image. Heat it with a Heat Tool to get a great textured white text. For this mermaid, I used the Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. I spattered some Bermuda Bay ink on the white parts of this card.

On my square card, I stamped the little mermaid image in circles with Bermuda Bay ink. On the front I stamped two of them in Lovely Lipstick ink and placed them with Stampin’ Dimensionals on to the card. All the images are fussy cut. To give your sponged background a bit of an extra touch, add some water spatters on your paper.
I totally love the stitched look, so for my cards I used a stitched border from the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies and a square for my text on the last card from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.
Create what you love, happy stamping everyone!

Stampin with Liz Design: Country Home - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop!

Welcome today at another Artisan Blog Hop! Are you hopping along with us? This months hop is all about the Country Lane suite. You can find this suite in the Autumn/Winter catalog of Stampin' Up! I created these two beautiful cards to inspire you!

In the stamp set Country Home that comes in this suite, you'll find gorgeous autumn flower bouquets and vases for an amazing autumn setting! I can remember such a vase with a dried bouquet in our home from my childhood, brings back memories here!

For my first card I created a base from Crumb Cake Cardstock. Then I stamped a piece of Whisper White Cardstock with the Buffalo Check background stamp. I used a piece of Whisper White Cardstock for the front and applied a stitched border with a framelit from the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies.

For my background I applied ink with a sponge very subtle for the sky and grass. To give the background a really outside feel, I thought it would be nice to stamp the gate, which is a stamp from the Pop on By stamp set. All of the stamped images are coloured with the Stampin' Blends Markers.

For my second card I used the gorgeous design paper from the suite, the Country Lane Designer Series Paper. This beautiful paper is already so gorgeous, you don't need much to create a wonderful autumn card. I stamped a bouqeut here as well and coloured it with the Stampin' Blends Markers.

To make my flowers pop, I diecutted a circle in the corner at the bottom and placed the vase with flowers on dimensionals. Just with a small text and some sequins this card is a fun fact!
