Stampin with Liz Design: Deck the Howls Card!

Welkom bij weer een nieuwe blog post vandaag! Nog een kerstkaartje dacht ik dan maar! De eerste kerstkaarten vallen hier al in de bus, dus kan nog zeker wel toch? Ik heb deze leuke kaart gemaakt met de schattige hondjes uit de Deck the Howls stempelset van MFT.

Welcome to a new blog post today! I thought I would do just another Christmas card today! I'm receiving my first Christmas cards this week, but one more is still oke right? I created this fun card with the cute puppies from the MFT stamp set Deck the Howls.

Voor deze kaart heb ik een gave sketch als uitgangspunt genomen die je deze week vind bij MFT Card Challenges. Altijd leuk om mee te doen daar met een challenge! Ik heb een basis van wit cardstock genomen en de voorgrond gestanst met een Wonky Stitched Rectangle die van MFT. Ik heb hier een vlak afgeplakt met masking tape en daarbinnen met een blending tool en Mermaid Lagoon en Faded Jeans distress inkt een achtergrond gecreëerd.

I used a cool sketch as a starting point for my card that you can find over at MFT Card Challenges this week. Always nice to enter one of their callenges! I used a base from white cardstock and diecutted some more white cardstock for my front with a Wonky Stitched rectangle die from MFT. I taped a rectangle area with masking tape and started to blend a background between these lines with Mermaid Lagoon and Faded Jeans Distress ink. 

Ik heb wat wit geëmbosste sterren op aangebracht die gestempeld zijn met een stempeltje uit de Polar Pals stempelset, eveneens van MFT. Ik heb een door kijkje gecreëerd door een circle uit mijn gecreëerde achtergrond te stansen en window sheet met sneeuw hierachter te plaatsen. Ik heb mijn voorgrond vervolgens met dimensionals op de basis kaart vast geplakt.

I added some white embossed stars with a stamp from the Polar Pals stamp set, from MFT as well. I created a peek a boo window by diecutting a circle out of my created square and placing snow behind a window sheet. I then placed my front with dimensionals on to my base. 

De schattige hondjes zijn met Black Tuxedo Memento ink gestempeld op Solar White Neenah Cardstock, gestanst met de bijpassende dies en ingekleurd met onderstaande Copic Markers. Ze zijn met dimensionals op de kaart aangebracht. Voor de tekst heb ik ook wit embossingpoeder en Versamarkt inkt gebruikt op een strook wit cardstock die ik gekleurd het met een rode Copic Marker.

The cute puppies are stamped with Black Tuxedo Memento ink on to Solar White Neenah Cardstock, diecutted with the coordinating dies and then coloured with the Copic Marker colours as you can see below. I used white embossing powder and Versamark ink for my tekst on a piece of white Cardstock that I coloured first with a red Copic Marker.

Stampin with Liz Design: Deck the Howls Card with Video Tutorial!

Welcome today at a new Stampin with Liz Design blog post! Hope you are all having a nice creative day! Today I'd like to share a fun Christmas Card with you that I've created with the amazing Deck the Howls stamp set with coordinating dies from My Favourite Things.

I wanted to create a see through window for this card. I diecutted a piece of white cardstock first with a Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die and then with the Jumbo Peek-a-Boo Circle die.

I then created a winter scene by blending a piece of white cardstock in three Distress ink colours, Mermaid Lagoon, Faded Jeans and Black Soot. After blending I added some white ink spatters to create a snow look. I used a bit of white paint for this technique which I thinned with a bit of water. Just use a brush and tip some spatters with it on to your paper.

I took this cute little Christmas dog as a focal point for my card, I just love this doggy stamp set! I coloured him with Copic Markers. Then I coloured some white cardstock with a Copic Marker in red, the same marker as I used for my dog, for the text. I stamped my text with Versamark ink and sprinkled it with white embossing powder. Then heat set the text with a heat tool for a nice textured feel. If you would like to see how this card came about, check the video below or watch on YouTube in HD!
