Stampin with Liz Design: To Bee or Not To Bee Blog Hop!

Hi there everyone! Today I'm excited to be a part of the To Bee or Not to Bee Blog Hop! Today my card is all about bees! Today a bunch of talented crafters are hopping to celebrate the 3rd World Bee Day! Make sure you hop along all the participants, which you can find at the end of this post! World Bee Day is all about saving and bringin awareness about the importance of the bees! You can check the World Bee Day site for more information about these amazing creatures!

I created a card with the gorgeous bees from the Best Bugs stamp set from Create a Smile stamps! I just love the cute little guys! I started this card with a white card base in A2 size (which is approximately 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). I diecutted a soft pink frame with a stitched scalloped rectangle die and placed dimensionals behind this frame. I then started working on blending a fun background for these cute fellows! I masked my white card base in to a frame, which would be just behind my pink panel and blended a blue sky using a blending tool, Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink from Ranger.

I then blended a piece of white cardstock with Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink from Ranger and diecutted this piece with the Grassy Edges die from Mft stamps. I love adding splatters on to my blended parts, it's such a fun effect! I added this piece just behind the pink frame. I then stamped the word Bzzz from the stamp set on to my background. I added the diecutted words Bee Happy to my card in soft pink and yellow colours. I then stamped the cute bees and flowers from the stamp set, fussy cutted them and coloured them with Copic Markers. I added these images on to this fun spring card using dimensionals!

Stampin with Liz Design: Create a Smile Challenges!

Hi there fellow crafters! Today it is time again for a new Create a Smile Challenge! Are you all ready for this fun challenge? Theme for this challenge is a fun sketch! I hope you will all enter of course, can't wait to see your take on the sketch! You can enter this challenge worldwide and have a chance at winning a € 25 gift certificate to spend at Create a Smile stamps! For those of you who don't own a Create a Smile stamp set yet, you can use one of the freebies that are up on their site!

A good sketch can get you easily started to create a card, I do love them! Use the sketch as a print for your layout, of make a rough interpretation and your own version, as long as the sketch is recognizable in your creation! I hope you will have fun with today's sketch! You have two weeks time to enter this fun challenge!

I used the fun Best Bugs stamp set for my card today. I love the bees and ladybugs in this amazing set! I started working on a background on my white card base, in A2 size (which is approxemately 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). I blended my background with Spun Sugar, Festive Berries and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink, a blending tool and the fun Diamonds stencil. I started blending with the darker colour at the bottom and then worked my way up to the lighter colour at the top.

To keep the sketch in mind, I added a piece of paper with a circle diecutted in the middle. I thought it would be fun staging the bee and ladybug on their brench just in front of the diecutted circle and giving my card a bit of a peek through window. I blended this paper and the circle behind my paper with Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and a blending tool. I then added a piece of grass, which I blended my paper with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink for, and the cute flowers from the set, which I stamped, diecutted and coloured with Copic Markers. I added my front panel and my text with dimensionals on to my card. Enjoy the sketch for those who would like to enter!

Thank you so much for watching today, hope to see you next time!

Stampin with Liz Design: Create a Smile Best Bugs Card!

Hi everyone! Welcome to a new Stampin with Liz Design blog post! I'm really graving for spring, we are having a rainy, windy winter, so a bit of sun and less rain really sounds appealing, lol! So today I created a bit of a spring feeling on my card to get me through my winter blues! This card is created with the amazing Best Bugs stamp set from Create a Smile stamps!

I just love this fun stamp set from Create a Smile stamps, it contains just the cutest bugs ever! There are a few bees and ladybugs in this set, just the most adorable ones! I started this bright card with a white card base. I wanted to apply spring colours on my card and started blending my card base with Squeezed Lemonade, then Spun Sugar and then Worn Lipstick, all Distress Oxide ink colours from Ranger. These colours are gorgeous and bright and blend so easily. To make this background a bit more interesting, I added some pink spatters on to it.

I diecutted a frame from white cardstock with a Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die and added two pieces of grass behind this frame. I blended pieces of white cardstock with Mowed Lawn and then diecutted these pieces with the Grassy Hills dies and made them a perfect fit to match the size of my frame. I added some green spatters on my grass, just love adding texture to my paper! Both the frame and the grass part I raised from my card base by using dimensionals, which gives it a nice depth! I then stamped the fun text 'Best Bugs, I love bee-ing with you' on to my card and started stamping the fun bugs and gorgeous little flowers from the set. I fussy cutted them and then gave them life by colouring them with Copic Markers. I also added these images with dimensionals on to my card base. Don't you just love these cuties? Hope it will bring you in a bit of a spring mood as well!

Thank you so much for watching today, hope to see you next time!
